Brody started out studying graphic design at Kent state University in 2005. After one year, she decided that graphic design wasn't what she wanted to do and transferred to the School of Visual Arts in New York City for the traditional animation program. After graduating in May 2011 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in traditional animation (specializing in stop-motion), Brody decided to expand her skills by attending Tom Savini's Special Makeup Effects program in Monessen, Pennsylvania, where she graduated January 2013.
